Laser Acupuncture
Laser Acupuncture is defined as the stimulation of traditional acupuncture points with low-
intensity, non-thermal laser irradiation, it utilizes exactly the same principles and protocols as traditional acupuncture, but has some positive advantages over the use of conventional
needles.
In the traditional method of laser acupuncture, individual points are stimulated one after the other with a laser device, which because of its outer shape may be described as a rod laser or laser pen.
Laser therapy has been shown to increase the rate of cellular growth and repair, increases the cellular activity of the area being treated, reduce inflammation and consequently improve the function and mobility of joints, it aids in wound healing, through the facilitation of fibroblast and collagen proliferation in damaged areas, increases blood flow to nourish damaged areas.
